I am very pleased to say that our latest martial arts DVD’s by Val Riazanov are selling like crazy and on top of that, we have possibly the World’s greatest martial arts magazine, Black Belt, featuring and interview with Val towards the end of this year.
In the DVD’s, we cover advanced Ballistic Striking, grappling and dealing with knives and guns. People always ask me what is the difference between Russian martial arts and other Eastern styles and I simply tell them that Russian arts are extremely simple to learn devastatingly effective. Now I know a lot of you martial artists out there will always say that some of the video clips out there on Russian arts look fake and to be honest, that was my initial reaction until I met Val and then subsequently traveled to Moscow to learn more.
In Moscow, I met Val’s teacher, Mikhail Ryabko and a host of other extremely talented martial artists and I can assure you that there is nothing fake about any of them. I have practiced martial arts for 28 years and the Russian style for the last 7 and what amazed me was not only how simple it is to learn, but how quickly you learn the real ‘secrets’ of the art, without having to worship some ‘master’, who remains out of reach to the ordinary student. What you also have to realize is that many of the people I met in Russia were and still are active Special Forces members and what is good enough for them is certainly good enough for me!
